Most small businesses start off with extremely limited resources and budgets. As the company succeeds and grows, they get to a point where they need to put more sophisticated structure in place to minimize risk and allow the company to grow uninhibited in a reliable, scalable and secure way. We will assess where you are now and help build a pragmatic prioritized roadmap to get you to where you need to be. And if you need assistance in executing the roadmap, we will help manage the ongoing implementation too.
Before you can know where you need to go, you first need to know where you are. We will perform an in-depth assessment and document what you currently have in place. What is working and doesn't need to change? What functions or processes are missing or weak and need to be improved upon? From there, we will outline a set of recommendations of what you should do to get to that next level.
So you now know where you need to go. But how will you get there? We will help build a strategic roadmap that prioritizes the most important projects in a way that is achievable within a one-to-two-year time frame. For each project, we will help put together a realistic approach and come up with a rough budget.
As you start to tackle each element of your roadmap, you may need to find a new solution that will work in your environment, grow and support your business and meet your budgetary needs. There are many viable options that will work for your needs, but each will have their own unique advantages and disadvantages. We will help you out in the vendor selection process from identifying solutions that will work in your environment, to helping negotiate contract terms and pricing and performing due diligence.
Selecting a solution partner may likely be the easy part. Now you will have to make sure that it will be successfully implemented and adopted. Are the stakeholders on board? Do you have resources (internally or from the vendor) who will be able to do the needed work? Do you have a list of tasks needed to be performed and a reasonable timeframe set to get them done? We can help manage the project so that it will be completed successfully and achieve the results that you want.
Just when you think you have everything running smoothly, the company decides to throw a monkey wrench into the mix and acquires or merges with another company. You will need to assess what the two organizations have in place. What are the synergies that can be achieved to reduce the overhead and redundancies? You will need to put a roadmap together here too - and individual project plans to implement all of the changes. We can help here too.
A risk assessment is the fundamental and most important part of any program. It identifies risks that pertain directly to your organization. In performing the risk assessment, we will identify what risk mitigation procedures are in place now and identify and recommend additional measures where you need improvement.
In order to properly mitigate risks to your organization, you will need a formal program in place that establishes governance, policies and procedures, training, audit/monitoring and reporting activities. We will help you develop this program and put a plan in place to properly manage it throughout the year.
Having IT security policies and procedures in place protects the company's information assets, which include data, systems, and networks. IT security policies and procedures provide a framework for how employees should use the company's IT resources and help to reduce the risk of cyberattacks and other security incidents. We will help you identify which ones you need and get them developed and put in place.
IT security training and monitoring tools play a vital role in protecting companies from cyberattacks, data breaches and other security incidents. We will help you identify and implement solutions that will work in your environment based on your support resources and budget.
You can have the best policies available, but if you are not following them or doing them effectively, they may not be helping to protect you. You need some form of established audit plan in place that addresses your key risks and identifies if the policies that you have are being followed effectively. And if not, develop and execute a corrective action to remediate the issues. We will help you identify and put together an effective and manageable plan.
Effectively managing a HIPAA security plan can be overwhelming if you don't have adequate resources in place. We can help augment those resources and provide ongoing assistance in overseeing the various aspects of the program to ensure your program is being properly maintained.
